Log Train Trail discussed

Alberni – Clayoquot regional representatives continue to wrestle with management of the Log Train Trail.

Attempts to update the ACRD’s licence of occupation with the province has opened up a pandora’s box of problems.

Regional District directors have tentatively decided the trail north of McLean’s Mill will allow motorized vehicles, and the southern section will not, and gates will be erected to prevent misuse, but how to allow horses through gates and where e-bikes fit in, continues to create debate.

Improved parking at trail heads is also being discussed in updating the 1993 lease agreement.
