BC Ferries summer schedule takes effect
NANAIMO — In what will almost certainly be the busiest and perhaps most challenging summer for BC Ferries, extra sailings on key routes are in now effect.
Fast-tracked two weeks earlier than usual, BC Ferries implemented its enhanced summer schedule on Thursday, June 11, which lasts through Sept. 7.
Overall, 1,800 extra round trips have been added to the peak summer travel season for BC Ferries, with a focus on the major routes linking Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.
The Departure Bay – Horseshoe Bay route had one extra daily round trip added to its schedule (6:20 p.m.), for a total of eight round trips seven days a week.
