ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford, B.C., say a man has been arrested after a body was discovered in a burned out structure at a homeless encampment Friday evening.

Abbotsford Police say officers responded to a reported fire at the Peardonville homeless encampment on South Fraser Way just after 6 p.m.

They say the blaze was isolated to a “single wooden structure,” and a dead body was found after Abbotsford firefighters put out the fire.

Police say investigators confirmed the death to be a homicide and a man was arrested and remains in custody.
