Global Village Nanaimo spring store ready to open

NANAIMO — Global Village Nanaimo is getting ready to open its largest spring store, promising a wider variety of fair trade items for sale than ever before.

Starting Monday, April 6, their spring fair trade pop-up location will be open inside Nanaimo’s Country Club Centre beside JYSK during regular mall hours.

The store will be open until May 16 and promises to have even more items to choose from than their past two Christmas stores.

Fair-trade items for sale will include a vast array of baskets, tablecloths, jewellery, blankets, and more, all in support of fair-trade producers from around the world.

Global Village Nanaimo supports fair trade practices, allowing them to help combat issues like poverty, human rights violations, and supply chain instability by providing a way to support ethical production, fair wages, and gender equality.

The spring store marks the 29th year in operation for Global Village Nanaimo, with its two pop-up stores offered annually in different locations throughout Nanaimo, one in the spring and another in fall and winter.
