Apr 4, 2026 | 11:14 PM

NANAIMO — The Clippers have held the lead for less than four minutes but have a 2-0 series lead on the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the BCHL playoffs.

In both games they were down a pair of goals in the second period but came back to win late in regulation time.

In Game 2 Samuel Leonard and Wyatt Blace give Alberni Valley a 2-0 first period lead and the game stayed that way until very late in the second

A Tanner Bruender power play marker gave the Clippers some life heading into the final period.

Sam Boisvert tied the game on another power play goal and then both teams had third period video reviews and waved off goals.

The game stayed 2-2 until there was under three minutes left and then Jack Rimmer whipped a shot in from the right wing and added an empty netter to give Nanaimo a 4-2 win and a 2-0 series advantage.

The shots and power plays were notable.

Nanaimo outshot Alberni Valley 44-18 including a 36-8 advantage in the final 40 minutes.

The Clippers went 2/7 on the man advantage and killed off the only Bulldogs power play in the contest

Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau got the win over Derik Brouillard although the Alberni Valley netminder was named the game’s third star.

The teams will take a two day break before Games 3 and 4 on April 7 and 8 in Port Alberni.
