Multi-week, immersive Van Gogh experience to jolt Nanaimo’s economy
NANAIMO — A fully immersive look at a legendary artist’s work will be on offer over six weeks this summer.
Beyond Van Gogh, an internationally touring show which embeds patrons in the work of Vincent Van Gogh, will set up at downtown Nanaimo’s Vancouver Island Conference Centre (VICC) between July 18 and Aug. 29, spanning 10,000 square feet of cinematic, projection-based recreations of his work.
The show is the result of partnerships forged between Nanaimo Museum, VICC, Port Theatre and Tourism Nanaimo, with 25,000 visitors expected over the show’s run.
Using a new venue, not to mention the scope of the show, is something new for the Museum.
