Port Alberni woman loses daughter in Tumbler Ridge shooting

A former Port Alberni woman is one of the many parents grieving the loss of her child in Tumbler Ridge.

Desirae Tiffany Pisarski wrote on social media that her 15-year old son Ethan was found safe after hiding in a school utility closet, but her 12-year old daughter Kylie had been shot and killed.

She said her daughter “had the biggest heart” and was a gentle, loving, caring girl, who lit up the way everywhere she went.

The family of Pisarski, who now lives in Cowichan Bay, have launched a GoFundMe page to pay for her expenses as she travels back to Tumbler Ridge this weekend.
