Nanaimo RCMP report the theft from the pub’s cash machine had occurred over the course of an extended period of time, with Dresser eventually confessing.

Dresser was handed a six month non custodial conditional sentence, followed by a 12-month probation order.

Allegations of Dresser’s illegal conduct first came to the attention of Nanaimo RCMP in August 2024.

Following the police investigation, a fraud charge against Dresser was approved by the BC Prosecution Service in October 2024.

He eventually agreed to plead guilty to a downgraded offence of theft over $5,000.

The 28-year-old had no prior criminal record.
