A 34-year old Port Alberni woman will spend the next 3 years in prison after pleading guilty to luring and sexually assaulting a minor.

Matraca Dodding initially faced 8 separate charges after sending sexually explicit texts and photos to a person under 16 years of age.

According to a psychiatric report, the woman with no previous criminal record is a low-risk to reoffend.

Judge Alexander Wolf said the 20 pages of sexually explicit text messages proved grooming and predatory behaviour and said she was highly morally blameworthy.
