Clippers beat Express in a shootout
COQUITLAM — The Clippers trailed by multiple goals in all three of their road games in Chilliwack, Langley and Coquitlam but came up with three of a possible six points and a 1-1-1 record.
In the concluding game in Coquitlam, Nanaimo scored first on a beautiful Jack Rimmer effort but found themselves down 3-1 through 40 minutes.
Carson McGinley equalized the Rimmer tally and then the Express added a last second goal by Kim Elfving to end the first period and a last minute marker from Michael Munroe to end the middle frame.
In the third period Elliot Perreault and Coquitlam’s Tyler Chiovetti traded goals to bring the game to 4-2 in favour of the Express.
