Swimming, skating and family fun in Nanaimo helping to ring in 2026

NANAIMO — A full day of family activities are planned at Beban Park to help celebrate the New Year.

Activate 2026 is hosted by the City of Nanaimo and features a full day of swimming, skating and fun activities for the whole family, beginning at 12 p.m. and running through until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 1.

Swimming will be open for the full five hours at Beban Park Pool, while next door at the Social Centre, a full range of activities are being offered.

Bouncy castles, a silent disco, crafts, games, food trucks and more will be available.

Frank Crane Arena will offer three skating sessions throughout the afternoon for roughly 90 minutes each beginning at 12:15 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available online through the City’s registration portal, or at the door.

Kids aged two years old or younger are free.
