BCHL’s top goal scorer strikes twice as Rivermen beat Clippers

NANAIMO — The Clippers got down 3-0 to the Langley Rivermen and couldn’t come all the way back in a 3-2 loss.

Langley’s Aaron Reierson scored his league leading 20th and 21st goals of the season in the Rivermen victory and Ben Davis also scored for the road team.

Clippers rookie Indiana Grossbard scored his third and fourth goals of the season in the loss.

The final shots were 37-18 in Nanaimo’s favour with the Clippers going 0/4 on the man advantage and 1/1 killing penalties.

Nanaimo also failed to score on a late second period five on three power play.

Langley goalie Dylan Johnson the win over Clippers netminder Dryden Riley.

Johnson was also named the game’s third star, behind the two goal getters in Reierson and Grossbard.

The loss snaps a three game winning streak for the Clippers as they head into a home and home series with the Coastal West Division leading Cowichan Valley Capitals Dec. 5 in Nanaimo and Dec. 6 in Duncan.
