NANAIMO — The Clippers have points in six consecutive hockey games after beating the Langley Rivermen 6-3.

With a record of 5-0-1 in their last six games the team is alone in second place in the Coastal West Division.

The Clippers came out of the gate quickly and piled up goals from Hayden Fechner, Charles Béland and Elliot Perreault in the opening period.

Fechner tallied again in the middle frame on a night when he finished with three points and first star honours.

Nanaimo upped their lead to 5-0 in the third period on a power play marker from Nathan Larioza.

It was then that the Rivermen started a rally.

Andrew Petruk and Sam Allaby scored less than a minute apart and Christian Chouha ripped home a power play goal to push the game to 5-3 with four minutes to play.

Jack Rimmer cemented the Nanaimo victory with a late empty netter.

Nanaimo outshot Langley 38-31 with Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau recording his eighth victory of the season.

The Clippers finished 1/3 on the power play while Langley went 1/4.

The game marked the return of blueliner Garin Ludwig who rejoined the team after a stint with Sioux City of the USHL.

Ludwig had an assist in his season debut.

Nanaimo’s next action is Saturday, Nov. 15 in Chilliwack.
