NANAIMO — The Clippers lost 4-3 in overtime to Cowichan Valley but earned a point on the strength of a goaltending clinic from Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau.

He made 48 saves on 52 shots on a night Nanaimo was outshot 52-13.

The Capitals put up 17 shots in each period of regulation time before scoring on their only shot in OT on a breakaway.

Nanaimo led 1-0 after the first period on a rush by Harrison Boldt, who broke in behind the Cowichan defense.

Seguin-Lescarbeau made a showstopping save in the opening frame going post to post to rob the Capitals Massimo Fazio.

Ryan Harvey tied the game with a shorthanded rebound goal in the second period but Sam Boisvert tallied on a breakaway just 11 seconds later to give Nanaimo the lead back.

Justin Collin staked Nanaimo to a two goal lead near the end of the second period but the Cowichan onslaught continued in the third.

Harvey scored again on a play that was reviewed for goaltender interference and Anthony Hall sniped home a power play goal.

It was Hall who got the OT winner as well after the Clippers failed to score on a man advantage in the three on three.

Both teams ended the night 1/3 on power plays.

Nanaimo is now 3-0-1 versus the Capitals and sit five points behind Cowichan Valley for first place in the Coastal West division.

The Clippers next game is in Langley on Nov. 14 with another home home and home series with the Capitals starting on Dec. 5.
