Clippers blank Grizzlies in home ice return

NANAIMO — After three weeks of road games the Clippers shutout the Victoria Grizzles 3-0 in their first home contest in 21 days.

Nanaimo goalie Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau recorded his third shutout of the season making 26 saves and being selected the game’s first star..

Offensively Elliot Perreault notched his team leading ninth goal of the season in the first period while Antoine Cormier and Harrison Boldt counted goals in the middle frame.

Nanaimo outshot Victoria 34 -26 with both teams going 0/4 on the man advantage.

Carter Capton surrendered three goals in 26 minutes of action for the Grizzlies while Paolo Frasca was perfect for the final 34 minutes.

The game was chippy at times with several delays in a third period that featured 15 different infractions plus a fight between the Clippers Justin Collins and the Grizzlies Michael Dowdall.

Nanaimo now has three wins in a row and has taken over second place in the Coastal West Division.

The Clippers play the division leading Cowichan Valley Capitals in a home and home series beginning on Nov. 7 at Frank Crane Arena.
