Clippers lose game and players to injury in Prince George

Oct 18, 2025 | 9:56 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — The Clippers scored first but spent much of their game against Prince George playing even or behind.

Carson Lesiuk tallied early but then the Spruce Kings added three straight markers including a pair on the man advantage.

Spencer Masters, and Ben Vreugdenhil had the power goals and Michael Denney scored at even strength.

Before an early intermission break Elliot Perreault got Nanaimo back within a goal, Evan Bellamy gave PG another two goal lead and Hayden Fechner nudged the game to 4-3.

The Perreault and Fechner goals were both on the power play.

With 6:15 remaining the first period a latch on the penalty box door was broken and the teams were sent to the dressing rooms for a full intermission.

Indian Grossbard equalized the game for the Clippers with just under three minutes in what was still the first period.

In the middle frame Kazumo Sasaki blistered home a power play goal before Charles Beland tied the game once again at 5-5.

Beland’s goal was a good way to celebrate his 19th birthday.

Tai Ushio put Prince George up 6-5 in the back half of the third period before Mason Loewen converted an empty netter.

The Clippers went 2/4 on the man advantage and 2/5 killing penalties.

Nanaimo outshot Prince George 34-28 in the contest.

Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau took the loss in net while Ryder Green replaced starter Colin Reay when the game was 4-4 and earned the victory for Prince George.

During the game the Clippers lost Will Subject and Justin Collins to injury.

Their status for a rematch in Prince George on Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. is unknown.

Nanaimo’s record is 5-4-1 after the first ten games of the BCHL season.
