CAO says not enough information

ACRD calls CFIB report “unfair”

Alberni – Clayoquot Regional District leadership is pushing back after the Canadian Federation of Independent Business labelled them the least efficient regional district in the province.

ACRD Chief Administrative Officer Daniel Sailland says it’s unclear how the CFIB reached their conclusions, which he called unfair.

“Without seeing the details of the actual numbers that they were using – and the tables don’t give me enough information to do that assessment – so our chair has requested access to the information they used so we can actually provide fair comment, but just from what I could see, no I don’t think that’s a fair depiction,” he said.

The CFIB says the ACRD increased its administration budget by 91% over the past 5 years, which was considerably higher than any increase in population, inflation, and property tax growth.
