‘One of the largest fields:’ former champions headline national golf event in Nanaimo
NANAIMO — Around 140 of the best senior women’s golfers from across Canada and overseas are preparing to tee off in the Harbour City.
The Nanaimo Golf Club is hosting the 2025 Canadian Women’s Senior Championships beginning Tuesday, Aug. 26 and running through Thursday, Aug. 28, with golfers from multiple provinces and territories, as well as into the United States and Australia, competing.
Club general manager Charles Stephen told NanaimoNewsNOW planning for the tournament began in January and ramped up over the summer months.
“We have about 45 volunteers, all of our members that are stepping up over the four day period. We have about 65 staff members on a daily basis, looking after the food and beverage, the accounting, pro shop and maintenance teams to look after all the guests and players coming to this wonderful event.”
