UPDATE: Missing Nanaimo boater safely located by RCMP

UPDATE — Police say on Monday, Aug. 18, 30-year-old Robert Stalker has been located safe and sound.

EARLIER — NANAIMO — One of two sailors missing since late July has been located, but the whereabouts of her partner remain a mystery.

Local Mounties confirmed Sunday, Aug. 17, 33-year-old Julie De Meyer was found safe and sound, along with the vessel she was connected to, the Calliope.

Police have not said where the boat was located, but credited “numerous tips received” in helping locate her.

Still missing, however, is 30-year-old Robert Stalker, from Nanaimo.

He’s described as 6’1″ tall, weighing 190 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes and the picture supplied by Nanaimo RCMP is recent.

Mounties are asking for further tips related to the whereabouts of Stalker.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the local detachment at 250 754 2345.
