Fireworks to headline annual Ladysmith Days celebration
LADYSMITH — Two days of live music, activites and entertainment will be punctuated by a fireworks show this weekend.
The annual Ladysmith Days runs Saturday, Aug. 2 and Sunday, Aug. 3 at Transfer Beach, with a handful of events also scheduled for the Town’s downtown area along 1st Ave.
Vendor coordinator Mary Furneaux told NanaimoNewsNOW the event has a history spanning more than 40 years and has gone under a few different names over the years including Beach Ball Days and Dogwood Days.
“The whole goal is to celebrate Ladysmith and the surrounding communities. It’s our goal to provide as many free events and activities over the weekend, because there’s a lot of people that just can’t get to other events…so we want to put on something for everybody.”
