‘Really grateful:’ volunteers going all in for Lock-in for Love campaign at the BC SPCA
NANAIMO — It’s once again that time of year where dedicated pet owners walk a mile in their furry friend’s paws.
The BC SPCA’s Lock-in For Love event is once again accepting donations from now until Saturday, June 14, the day when volunteers will get “locked up” in cages with an animal in care until they raise enough to be released.
Alin Wilson with the BC SPCA said a ton of volunteers province-wide are already asking for donations, with fundraising starting on May 28.
“You would sit with an animal for maybe an hour, and spend quality time with them while you make a final push to raise funds and meet your goal…and then once you raise enough funds, you get unlocked and freed from jail.”
