Nanaimo RCMP searching for dog walker after ‘significant’ bite incident
NANAIMO — Police are looking to identify a woman who was walking a large dog in Lantzville this week.
Mounties report a very large, grey dog with wiry hair resembling an Irish Wolfhound, bit a woman along Superior Rd., near the Island Hwy. on Wednesday, April 19 at around 10:30 a.m.
Nanaimo RCMP Res. Cst. Gary O’Brien said the dog was being walked on leash by a woman, when they passed another woman going the opposite direction.
“As [the victim] passed, the dog turned towards her, aggressively came back and actually dragged the woman who was walking the dog and ended up biting the victim on the arm.”
