Final list of candidates confirmed by Elections Canada
NANAIMO — An official candidates list for the upcoming April 28 federal election has been released.
As anticipated, the federal riding of Nanaimo-Ladysmith has a number of returning candidates from the 2021 vote, including incumbent Lisa Marie Barron of the New Democratic Party (NDP).
Tamara Kronis is the official nominee for the Conservative party, while Liberal candidate Michelle Corfield is also on the ballot, along with current Nanaimo city councillor Paul Manly for the Green Party, and Stephen Welton from the People’s Party of Canada (PPC).
Manly finished in third place in the last federal election, 2,186 votes behind the winner Barron, and 987 votes behind Kronis for the Conservatives who took second place, with the three candidates accounting for 81.6 per cent of all votes cast in Nanaimo-Ladysmith.
