Apr 8, 2025 | 10:40 PM

NANAIMO — The Clippers got behind and spent most of Game 3 against the Cowichan Valley Capitals battling up hill.

A seeing eye shot from Moritz Kukuk and a stray pass pounced on by Luca Primerano gave the Capitals a 2-0 lead after the opening period.

An outside wrist shot off the stick of Camden Bajzer upped the Cowichan advantage to 3-0 through 40 minutes.

After a penalty kill to start the third period Carson Lesiuk jumped on a loose puck to vault Nanaimo back into the game.

Trace Frieden made it 4-1 half way through the final stanza but the Clippers showed no quit.

With their goalie pulled Tanner Bruender scored a power play goal with just over two minutes remaining and Cole Lonsdale brought the game to 4-3 with a minute left.

Primerano’s second goal of the night sealed the Capitals win, giving them a 3-0 stanglehold in the best of seven series.

Nanaimo outshot their island rivalries 29-24 while going 1/4 on the power play and 5/5 killing penalties.

Dylan Krick secured his third straight victory in goal over the Clippers Vladimir Nikitin.

The Clippers host a must win Game 4 on Apr. 9 to try to keep their season alive.
