NANAIMO — Clippers forwards Chase Hull and Cole Lonsdale spent a weekend in Salmon Arm at the BCHL All-Star weekend.

Hull was a part of the Top Prospects Game on Jan. 17 while Lonsdale participated in the three on three All-Star tournament and also the faster skater competition.

Clippers coach Colin Birkas was at the event and was pleased his players showed well.

“I was really proud of our guys. They represented themselves and the team very well. It was great two Nanaimo Clippers were recognized at that event, although I believe more of our players deserved to be there.”

Hull is in his second year in the BCHL, but is still one of the youngest players with a 2007 birthdate.

His Coastal team won 7-4 over the Interior although the Ontario native had no points.

“It was great,” Hull said. “The Prospects Game was a lot of fun and I got to meet a lot of new guys. There were lots of scouts in the stands and that’s always good. There was a time in the first period when I almost scored a through the legs goal but it ended up on top of the net, but that was pretty cool.”

Lonsdale is in his final year of junior eligibility and was eager to experience the All-Star weekend.

“It’s a pretty cool honour to be recognized by the league and playing with the best players. Unfortunately none of my family could make it but I had Chase Hull and coach Birkas there too.”

The Clippers resume their regular season Friday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 25 in Powell River with both players going in hot.

Lonsdale has four goals and four assists during a four game point streak and Hull has scored in back to back games.

CLIP NOTES:

The Clippers are on a two game winning streak and look to win three games in a row for just the second time this season as they head into their Powell River trip.

New goaltender Vladimir Nikitin is set to join the Clippers for their Jan. 24 and 25 contests.

Clippers leading scorer Dylan Kinch has 12 points in his last four outings and received an honourable mention for the latest BCHL 3 Stars of the Week.
