Klaver named SD70 Superintendent

The Pacific Rim School District will have a new Superintendent when classes resume in January.

School board chair Pam Craig said they’re happy to have been able to promote from within to fill the top job.

“We’re extremely lucky that we have assistant superintendent Peter Klaver who will be the newly appointed superintendent and CEO, and Director James Messenger will now move forward into the newly appointed position of assistant superintendent,” she said.

Klaver will take over the position after Tim Davie from Nanaimo accepted a job in Cowichan after 2 years here.

Messenger, who grew up in Port Alberni, has been a teacher and a principal before becoming a school board director.
