NANAIMO –  As the end of the year draws closer, the housing market seems to find balance

In November, 267 single-family homes sold in Nanaimo, down twenty-three per cent over October and up fourteen per cent over the previous year. Active listings of single-family homes on the Mid-Island were 1,105 in November, up six percent from the previous year.

The average sale price for a single-family home in Nanaimo was $812,900 in November, on par with both the previous month and November 2023.

These are the benchmark numbers for Nanaimo in November 2024, as well as central and northern Vancouver Island:

  • Nanaimo’s benchmark sits at $812,900, on par with both the previous year and last month.
  • Campbell River’s benchmark price for single-family homes was $713,700, a seven per cent increase over the previous year.
  • Comox Valley’s benchmark price rose three per cent over last year’s price and sits at $842,600.
  • Cowichan Valley reported a benchmark price of $769,300, on par with November 2023.
  • The Parksville-Qualicum area is three per cent higher than last year with a benchmark price of $885,900
  • Port Alberni’s benchmark increased to $494,400, which is on par with last year’s number.
  • The North Island area is up over five per cent over last year with a benchmark price of $430,700.
