NANAIMO –  A spring market has sprung in the fall

In September, 320 single-family homes sold in Nanaimo, down four percent from August but up twenty-two per cent over the previous year. Active listings of single-family homes on the Mid-Island were 1,586 in September, up thirty-five percent from the previous year.

The average sale price for a single-family home in Nanaimo was $840,318 in September, on par with the previous month but nearly a six percent increase from September 2023.

These are the benchmark numbers for Nanaimo in September 2024, as well as central and northern Vancouver Island:

  • Nanaimo’s benchmark sits at $810,800, on par with both last month and the previous year.
  • Campbell River’s benchmark price for single-family homes was $694,700, close to a three percent increase over the previous year.
  • Comox Valley’s benchmark price is on par with last year’s price at $826,600.
  • Cowichan Valley reported a benchmark price of $773,900, a two percent decrease from September 2023.
  • The Parksville-Qualicum area is on par with last year with a benchmark price of $902,500.
  • Port Alberni’s benchmark increased rose to $501,100, a three percent decrease from last year’s number.
  • The North Island area is up four percent over last year with a benchmark price of $451,100.
