By-election set for December 14th

City of Port Alberni residents will go the polls on Saturday, December 14th to elect a new city councillor.

The by-election became necessary after John Douglas suddenly passed away in July.

Council approved the hiring of a consulting group to assist with the by-election because of a staff shortage in city hall.

The by-election will cost $90,000 which includes advance voting opportunities on December 4th and 11th.
