Knife wielding attacker in Nanaimo stopped by dog walker’s martial arts training
NANAIMO — Local Mounties are looking for a man in his 30’s who allegedly tried to attack a dog walker with a pair of knives.
The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11 at the Rotary Lookout Park at the end of of Northfield Rd., when a man walking his dog was confronted.
Police said the attacker swung two knives at the dog walker, attempting to stab him.
The man’s large-breed dog bit the attacker on the leg, while the dog walker used his martial arts training to “incapacitate” the attacker and get control of the knives.
