UPDATE: Sailings reinstated between Nanaimo and Vancouver after earlier power supply issue
UPDATE — BC Ferries confirm the issue on board the Queen of Oak Bay has been resolved and both the 11:25 a.m. sailing from Horseshoe Bay and the corresponding 1:40 p.m. crossing from Nanaimo’s Departure Bay have been re-instated.
It’s expected crossings will continue on the route as scheduled Friday.
EARLIER — NANAIMO — Failure of a backup system on board the Queen of Oak Bay is forcing schedule tweaks for BC Ferries.
The company announced on Friday, July 12 they’ve cancelled both the 9:05 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. sailings from Nanaimo’s Departure Bay, along with corresponding 6:30 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. trips from Horseshoe Bay in Vancouver.
