‘Pillowman’ wins Provincials
The Portal Players made their first trip to the provincial mainstage drama festival a memorable one, taking most of the top trophies with their play The Pillowman.
The dark drama won best production, best male lead and male supporting actors, as well as best director, lighting, sound and props.
Director Nicole Foster says their performance in Chilliwack on the weekend deserved their many awards.
“We really pushed some boundaries for our zone, especially with the show,” she said. “Anybody who saw it in town knew it was a more mature production than things we’ve done before in terms of the competition as a whole, we had a very polished show from the actors to the technical design and it was probably one of our best shows we had in our entire run.”
