Police raid North Crescent house

Port Alberni RCMP have released details of a drug bust that happened last Saturday on North Crescent, across the street from a popular playground.

A dozen officers swarmed a rental property as part of an ongoing trafficking investigation, seizing drugs as well as airsoft guns and machetes.

10 people were inside the residence at the time of the raid, and police arrested a man who had outstanding warrants for assault and breaching court orders.

According to Constable Richard Johns, Port Alberni police have raided two known drug houses this year, seizing nearly 1000 doses of potentially fatal illicit drugs, hundreds of controlled substances, and approximately $6500 in cash.
