The BC United Party is the first to confirm their candidate for Mid-Island / Pacific Rim for the upcoming provincial election.
Joshua Dahling says his experience in the mental health field would help address the opioid crisis in Port Alberni and throughout the province.
“We’re quite aware of the issues around homelessness and addiction in our community and I believe that the provincial government can work effectively with with the municipal government to rollout solutions and plan to address those issues,” he said.
BC United leader Kevin Falcon said the NDP’s delivery of mental health services are failing British Columbians, but with experts like Joshua in the legislature, they will be able to implement BC United’s ‘Better is Possible’ plan and overhaul the mental health, recovery and addictions system
Dahling ran in the past municipal election and came in 17th among the 21 councillor candidates.
The next provincial election happens on Saturday, October 19th.
