Clippers overpowered 6-3 by high flying Warriors
NANAIMO — The Clippers honoured their alumni and 2004 Fred Page Cup winning team before their game against West Kelowna but ended up on the wrong side of a 6-3 score.
In the first period the Warriors scored three goals and never looked back. A pair by Michael Salandra and the first BCHL tally for Sean Keohane put Nanaimo in a deep hole.
The Clippers pushed back in the second period with goals from Sam Boisvert and Connor DeTurris but before the intermission break markers from Callum Hughes and Simon Houge built the West Kelowna advantage back up to three.
Both teams scored in the final period as Andrew Brown notched a power play goal for Nanaimo and captain Brennan Nelson scored into an empty net for the Warriors.
