Nanaimo Real Estate Market Report: September 2023

NANAIMO – Buyers benefiting from subdued September market.

In September, 85 single-family homes sold in Nanaimo, a 2 per cent from August and up 73 per cent from the previous year. Active listings of single-family homes on the Mid-Island were 1,173 in September, down 17 per cent from the previous year.

The average price for a single-family home in Nanaimo was $798,766 in September, down 7 per cent from the previous month but on par from September 2022.

• Nanaimo’s benchmark price decreased to $802,000, on par with last month and the previous year.
• Campbell River’s benchmark price for single-family homes was $668,600, on par with the previous year.
• Comox Valley’s benchmark price decreased by 5 per cent from last year to $842,000.
• Cowichan Valley reported a benchmark price of $788,600, on par with September 2022.
• The Parksville-Qualicum area increased slightly from the last year to $891,800.
• Port Alberni’s benchmark decreased to $538,000, a 2 per cent decrease from last year.
• The North Island area decreased 8 per cent from last year to $438,300
