John Barsby Secondary School evacuated after ‘unspecified threat’
NANAIMO — A local high school has been evacuated following what Nanaimo RCMP described as an unspecified threat.
Police say the threat made to John Barsby Secondary School was made on Wednesday, Oct. 4 after 3 p.m. at a time when students were already leaving for the day.
School staff along with RCMP quickly cleared the building as a result, while specialized officers, including Police Dog Services, were assigned to investigate.
Searches of the interior and exterior of the building were conducted.
