VICTORIA — Canucks fans on Vancouver Island will have an easier time getting a glimpse of next season’s team.

The Vancouver Canucks announced its 2023 training camp will be held in Victoria from Thursday, Sept. 21 to Monday, Sept. 25 at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

The team announced free open practices will be held, along with other free team related events at the home of the WHL’s Victoria Royals during the course of the five day camp.

Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford stated in a news release the team is delighted to be in the provincial capital for training camp.

“The Vancouver Canucks have had a long history of holding training camp on Vancouver Island and throughout other parts of British Columbia. Taking our team outside of Vancouver to start the year allows us to connect with our loyal fans from across the province. We look forward to utilizing Victoria’s great facilities and beautiful surroundings to kick off the new season.”

The Canucks stated additional information about public access for its training camp will be announced at a later date through the team’s social media channels.

Prior Canucks training camps on Vancouver Island have been held in Parksville, Courtenay and Victoria (2019) according to the team.
