LANGLEY — The impressive run of Shane Shelest in the Clippers first round playoff series against Langley continued in Game 6.

In his third straight start he upped his win total to 3-0 and recorded his first ever BCHL shutout.

Shelest stopped 29 shots in a series clinching 1-0 win over the Rivermen.

A Grant Babcock goal just under five minutes into the third period was the only scoring Nanaimo would need,

Babcock took a shot from the left side that trickled through Langley netminder Ajeet Gundarah.

It was his first career playoff goal.

The shots finished 33-29 for the Clippers with both teams going 0-1 on the man advantage.

Nanaimo ended their first round series with three consecutive victories while outscoring the Rivermen 11-3 in that span.

The Clippers will move on to face the Chilliwack Chiefs in the second round of the post season starting on April 14 in Nanaimo.

In the regular season the Clippers finished with a 3-0-1 head to head record.

The end of the season for the Rivermen also meant the final ever Junior A games for 2002 born players Joseph Messina, Garrett Valk, Keeton Oakley, Hayden Gelbard and Brett Ursulak

With the Clippers six game series win Nanaimo has an all time 6-2 record in post season series versus Langley.
