COQUITLAM — The Clippers game versus the Express was tied 2-2 late but Nanaimo eventually lost 4-2.

Kai Daniells opened the scoring 35 seconds into the contest but Gavin Giesbrecht quickly tied the game on a Coquitlam power play.

Blake Setter scored a deflection goal mid way through the middle frame to give the Express a lead into the third.

Jeremie Payant tied it up early in the final period until a late game winner by Ray Hamlin with three minutes to play.

Emmett McHardy sealed the game with empty netter in the final final minute.

Shane Shelest faced 26 shots in the loss and the Nanaimo put up 22 on winning goaltender Brady Smith.

The Clippers finished 0/5 on the man advantage and 3/4 on the penalty kill.

Of note Daniells first goal extended his personal point streak to 13 games with 18 points in that span.

Nanaimo has one remaining game in the regular season in Victoria on March 25.

They will play Langley in the opening round of the playoffs likely starting on March 31.
