Canucks trade captain Bo Horvat to New York Islanders
VANCOUVER — Amid speculation for weeks the Vancouver Canucks traded away their captain and pending unrestricted free agent in exchange for three assets, including a conditional first round draft pick.
Canucks GM Patrik Allvin announced on Monday, Jan. 30 Vancouver acquired forwards Anthony Beauvillier, Aatu Raty and a protected 2023 first round draft pick in exchange for Horvat.
Beauvillier is a 25-year-old winger in his seventh season in the NHL, all on Long Island. He’s complied nine goals and 20 points in 49 games so far this season.
Beauvillier, who’s an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season, has amassed 102 goals and 209 points in 457 NHL career games.
