Dec 16, 2022 | 10:16 PM

NANAIMO — The Clippers winning streak was stopped at six games after losing 3-2 in overtime to Prince George.

The Spruce Kings got the jump on Nanaimo with Jack Kurrle scoring seven minutes into the game and Luca Primerano adding a power play marker early in the second period.

All Nanaimo’s offense came in a 1:19 span in the final frame when Jake Hewitt and Jeremie Payant brought the game to 2-2.

After some early Clipper pressure in overtime Kilian McGregor-Bennett sniped the winner to silence the Frank Crane Arena Crowd.

The final shots were 28-22 for Nanaimo with Jordan Fairlie earning the win over the Clippers Aidan Campbell.

Nanaimo was 0/3 on the man advantage while Prince George went 1/1.

The Dec. 16 three stars were:

1) Luca Primerano 2) Jake Hewitt 3) Scott Cousins

Nanaimo closes out the pre-Christmas schedule with their Teddy Bear Toss game against the Cowichan Valley Capitals on Saturday Dec. 17.

The Clippers bring a 4-0 record against the Capitals into the game which will be Nanaimo’s last game at Frank Crane Arena in 2022.
