Adverse weather cancels ferry sailings between Nanaimo and Vancouver
NANAIMO — The region’s first substantial winter storm is slowing, or outright cancelling travel in the region.
BC Ferries cancelled their afternoon and evening sailings between Nanaimo’s Duke Point and Tsawwassen in the Lower Mainland for Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Departures from Nanaimo at 3:15 p.m., 5:45 p.m., 8:15 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. are cancelled, along with corresponding trips from Tsawwassen at the same time.
Environment Canada has a gale warning issued for the Strait of Georgia south of Nanaimo. It warns of winds between 45 and 64 kilometres per hour Tuesday afternoon and evening.
