NANAIMO — This year’s BCHL All-Star festivities will have some Clipper content.

Forward Kai Daniells was named to the Coastal Conference roster for the Jan. 21 event in Penticton, which will see players from all 18 clubs play a three-on-three tournament at a newly built rink in the city’s downtown.

Daniells is the lone Nanaimo participant so far, as each head coach was asked to nominate just one player.

A further six skaters and four goaltenders will get voted in by a fan vote starting next week.

Other all-star weekend festivities such as a skills competition featuring hardest shot and accuracy events will take place on the day before the game itself.

Through 18 games so far this season, Daniells is second in team scoring with 24 points, however he leads the Clippers with 11 goals including two game winners.

He’s formed a lethal pairing up front with Brody Waters as both players are in the top five of league scoring.

Daniells has the most points so far this year among uncommitted NCAA eligible players.

Nanaimo, winners in their last three, continue a stretch of road games this weekend by visiting Chilliwack and Surrey beginning Saturday, Nov. 19.
