Some Nanaimo-Gabriola ferry crossings cancelled due to sanitary-related issues

NANAIMO — Due to mechanical issues with the Island Aurora’s sanitary systems, a number of ferry sailings between Nanaimo and Gabriola Island have been cancelled for Friday, Sep. 2.

Cancelled sailings include:

  • 11:40 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:50 p.m. sailing departing from Descanso Bay (Gabriola Island)
  • 12:55 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:15 p.m. sailing departing from Nanaimo Harbour

In response to these cancellations, the Island Kwigwis will operate in shuttle mode until further notice.
