Nanaimo RCMP seek man accused of taking voyeuristic picture of unsuspecting woman

NANAIMO — RCMP hope the public can help identify a man who they say pointed his phone up the skirt of a woman at the Dollarama location on Bruce Ave.

Nanaimo RCMP Res. Cst. Gary O’Brien said the incident occurred on Friday, July 29 at about 2 p.m. surveillance footage showed the suspect crouching over and aiming his phone up the victim’s skirt while she was looking away.

“Her boyfriend happened to see this happen and get into a full-brown fight with the individual. He was last seen getting into a dark blue or black sedan”

Police stated the suspect is described as white with a full beard at the time and wearing brown pants, a dark coloured t-shirt and a baseball hat.

O’Brien called this ” a serious offence” which could result in a criminal code charge of voyeurism.
