PARKSVILLE — A man accused of a sexual assault following a break-in at a Nanoose Bay home has been charged, while Oceanside Mounties are trying to re-arrest him.

Charges of sexual assault, assault with a weapon, break and enter and obstructing police were applied against Quinten Anthony Meyer on August 5 in connection with a July 30 incident in the Morello Rd. area, Oceanside RCMP announced.

An arrest warrant for the 27-year-old Meyer accompanied the approval of charges, police noted.

Meyer was arrested the day of the alleged incident and later released with a promise to appear in court as charges had not been laid at the time.

Police stated in the release that Meyer provided a false name to police upon his arrest, leading to the additional charge of obstruction of a police officer.

Meyer is described as a white male, standing 5’10” weighing 150 lbs. with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Notably, he has a skull tattoo on his left hand.

Oceanside RCMP stated it was unable to release Meyer’s picture.

Meyer’s current whereabouts are currently unknown, while he has family connections on Vancouver Island, the Okanagan and Calgary, AB, according to police.

Anybody who knows Quinten Anthony Meyer’s current location is asked to contact police.
