NANAIMO — As government-mandated restrictions loosen, theme parks are finally making their long-awaited return after the pandemic put their events on hold the past two years.

More than 20,000 visitors made it to the West Coast Amusements (WCA) theme park opening weekend in early April, and residents from all over Vancouver Island were attracted.

“It was a great time. We haven’t been able to enjoy it in a while.”

Anonymously interviewed guests expressed their satisfaction with this event as well as a desire to see more of the same come to Woodgrove Centre.

The good news is Central Walk has another big WCA-organized event in store, this time at Mayfair Shopping Centre in Victoria from April 27 to May 1.

Mayfair Shopping Centre is Victoria’s leading fashion focused shopping centre, conveniently located between Finlayson St. and Blanshard St.

“We are very excited to have everybody come and check it out,” said Fang Sun, Central Walk’s executive director. “This will also prove a historic period for Vancouver Island’s tourism sector, as the region looks to stake its claim as a popular holiday destination not only in Canada, but the world at large.”

With society having endured the most unprecedented of pandemics in recent history, who would have thought that the return of theme parks this soon was even possible?

It certainly will be worth the drive to Victoria to enjoy exciting rides, spectacular scenery, tasty treats, fun games, as well as other sights and sound that promise to make this carnival a haven for holidaymakers and the perfect opportunity to share great memories with friends and family!

Information about ticket prices and schedules is available at the Mayfair Shopping Centre website.
