Vehicle seized from alleged Parksville highway hit and run
PARKSVILLE — Investigators have made headway into determining who was involved in an alleged hit and run.
A cyclist required air transport to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 6 while riding on the shoulder of Hwy. 19, just north of the Englishman River bridge near Parksville.
Cpl. Mike Halskov with BC Highway Patrol said in a release, police have identified and seized the vehicle believe to have been involved. He noted police will conduct a mechanical inspection and forensic examination.
Halskov was unable to confirm to NanaimoNewsNOW whether the registered owner of the vehicle was behind the wheel at the time of the incident.
