Feb 4, 2022 | 9:55 PM

CHILLIWACK — Without their top goalie, defenceman and forward the Clippers lost 6-2 to the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Cooper Black, Michael Craig and Sean Donaldson were among the scratches in a game that saw Nanaimo down 4-0 in the opening 27 minutes.

The two clubs traded goals the rest of the night with Kai Daniells and Max Itagaki hitting the score sheet for the visitors.

Jed Baliotti played the first two periods and made way for affiliate goalie Merik Erickson in the third. Baliotti faced 24 shots and Erickson stopped nine of the 10 he faced.

Nanaimo had 26 shots on Chiefs goalie Grant Riley.

Special teams were a major factor with the Clippers going 0/4 on the power play and 2/4 killing penalties.

The Feb. 4 three stars were 1) Cam Johnson 2) Mateo Mrsic 3) Dawson Good

The Clippers record sits 22-13-1 and their run of three straight road victories came to an end.

Nanaimo is back on the road for a pair of games against the Surrey Eagles Feb. 5 and Feb. 6.
